History

It all started with a desire to improve the efficiency of solar power plants. Artur Deger was far from satisfied with the economic viability of large and small solar parks and systems. This changed with his idea of carefully controlling photovoltaic panels so that they always achieve the best solar yield. An idea was born from a vision and a company was born from an idea.

1999

DEGERenergie GmbH founded; the first SOL-traker single-axis systems up to 10m²; development of the DEGERconecter.

2000

Introduction of the DEGERtraker 700EL and 1000EL dual-axis systems.

2001

Delivery of the first DEGERtraker 1000EL to Spain.
The DEGERconecter is awarded the 2001 Baden-Württemberg Inventor’s Prize from Südwestfunk and Sparda Bank Baden-Württemberg.

2002

Market roll-out of the low-cost single-axis TOPtraker 6.1

2003

Market roll-out of the 1200EL and 1600EL; registration with renowned solar wholesalers in Germany; development and market roll-out of the wind monitor safety function.

2004

Market roll-out of the DEGERtrakers 2500EL and 4000EL.

2005

Development of the NT product line; market roll-out of the 5000NT DEGERtraker; subsidiary opened in Spain.
Inventors-prize from business magazine "econo".

2006

Market roll-out of the DEGERtraker 7000NT.

2007

Market roll-out of the TOPtraker 8.5; development of a dimensioning tool for rapidly planning solar parks.

2008

Development of the HD series. Production stop of the EL models. Delivery of the 25,000^th DEGERtraker. The Landes Bank Baden Württemberg (LBBW) awards DEGERenergie to the ten best companys in the region.

2009

Market roll-out of the DEGERtraker 5000HD, TOPtraker 40NT 15°, and TOPtraker 40NT 0°; acquisition of the new company building; opening of a subsidiary in the USA; test series of the tracking systems in the wind tunnel; development of the alignment tool. The control system electronics are changed from analog to digital technology.

2010

Development of the CT series, market roll-out of the DEGERtrakers 3000CT and 5000CT. Opening of a subsidiary in Greece; second production line in Toronto, Canada.

DEGERenergie receives quality seal "TOP 100" for the most innovative companies of Germany.
